SBusDSP-56X [Berkeley Camera Engineering]

SBusDSP-56X is a single-wide, realtime coprocessor board for digitalsignal processing, realtime control, and high-speed telecommunications.It has a Motorola DSP56 digital signal processor with 32 K words ofRAM, a Xilinx LCA (logic cell array) for custom I/O, and an SBus DMAcontroller by LSI Logic.The DSP56 at 40MHz executes one ALU and two data move instructions in50 nanoseconds for a peak of 60 MOPS. I/O and control interruptprocessing is typically completed within 400 nanoseconds of the event. A1024-point complex FFT takes 1.73 milliseconds. The DSP's synchronousserial interface (SSI) is a full-duplex serial port at up to 10 Mbps forcommunication with codecs, ADCs, DACs, networks of DSPs, andmicroprocessors. The serial communications interface (SCI) is a full-duplex port for asynchronous communication at up to 422 Kbps orsynchronous at up to 5 Mbps. The SSI and SCI ports are NeXT DSP port-compatible. The 29 pins of the DB37 rear panel connector go to the in-circuit loadable Xilinx gate array for custom I/O.
